Where have all the good games gone
With controllers that I love?
I miss the fun of my zap gun
And my old Nintendo glove.
Dancing like an idiot on my DDR pad
Late at night I toss and I turn and I dream
Of the next fad.

Like Guitar Hero!
I’m playing Guitar Hero every day and night
The marks on the frets
Show what colors to hit
To make the Rock Meter alight!
In Guitar Hero!
I’m playing Guitar Hero ‘til the morning light
Use the whammy bar
So that my avatar
Gets Star Power and gets larger than life

Whether playing Black Sabbath
White Zombie or Ramones
Stardom is within my reach
Even though I never leave my home
Heart Shaped Box is nirvana
Sunshine of Your Love makes me cream
It’s More Than a Feeling and you know just what I mean

It’s Guitar Hero
I’m holding a guitar that is to small to play
It doesn’t have strings
But that don’t mean a thing
Cause it’s more fun to play that way
It’s Guitar Hero
It also comes with its own strap
I’ll play til I’m best!
Who needs to rest?
This game is more addictive than crack.

I onlocked every guitar and venue
On my first day you see
It’s incredible my axe ain’t compatible
With a PS3

Master pull-offs and hammer-ons
And a level five chord
Beat my friends in the Battle Mode
So I don’t get bored

It’s Guitar Hero
Who needs a real band when we sound so good?
Hey, buddy relax
You’ll get your turn on my axe
I’m the most popular kid in my ‘hood.
It’s Guitar Hero
We’re never gonna let up our play
We’ll play day and night
Over turns we will fight
Til we buy Rock Band and throw it away
